  Marcel Simonin, 66, was found guilty last Dec. 19 in Valleyfield corut of sexual aggression against a minor, between 1985 and 1992. When these activities started, his young girl victim was 11 years old.
  
  
  The mother of the victim had first met the individual when he held the title of Elder at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Chateauguay. He spoke during services, taught life precepts and spiritually supported members of the congregation.
  
  
  After he succeeded in winning over the woman's trust and that of her daughter, the man later became addicted to intimate contact with the child, such contact ranging from simple touching to a complete sexual relationship.
  
  
  During those eight years, the acts of aggressions occurred in several places, notably at his house, in his car, at the home of the girl and at the Chateauguay Kingdom Hall.
  
  
  In her ruling, Judge Linda Despots of the Criminal and Penal Chamber, notes that the victim had filed a complaint when she was 16 or 17. but she later withdrew the complaint "feeling herself to be under the pressure of the community and under the threat of being expelled" (from the Kingdom Hall).
  
  
  Another Elder in the Quebec City region where the mother and child had moved, convinced her t5o write a letter to authorities of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses regarding what she had experienced with the defendant.
  
  
  Following reception of this letter, Simonin telephoned his victim to apologize for these acts after recognizing their veracity. The complainant then apparently forgave him.
  
  
  But when, in 2003, the young girl saw the accused at a Jehovah's Witnesses assembly at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal, his presence revived her wounds and made her relive the memories accumulated during those years when she was a victim of touching. Afterwards the young girl went through several difficult years during which she tried to commit suicide on three occasions and underwent therapy treatments from a psychologist.
  
  
  In 2005, in order to continue her therapeutic progress and free herself from the past, the girl once again decided to lodge an official complaint against the accused.
  
  
  Believing that the credibility of the defendant - who had always denied being addicted to the acts of which he was accused - was tainted for several reasons, the court declared Simonin guilty of sexual aggression according to three articles of the Criminal Code.(Tr: D.R.)

  hello MJ... do you have one of those books that witnesses use ... um is it like the organized book or something? or the one used with aakkk the 266 pre-baptismal question? where it actually spells out the questions asked at baptism? the bible teach book for new studies saying one thing, the more indepth for the - too late we got you bunch. frauds - all of them LOL happy new year! wp

  oh.... how the saga goes on!!

  i swear we could write a novel about our life exiting the watchtower!!

  ok..many of you read what happened..our house was egged and so was my sisters car that was parked here, and "frosty" was attacked!!

  I just had another thought about at least the report of this crime, whether lawsuit, media attention, etc., it could show a pattern for future incidents - for you, or others facing the same shunning behaviour. More evidence for their blackmailing ways of the alienation of affection which is taught from infancy. wp

  as many of you know by now - i do not tolerate 'shunners'.

  i have done no evil, killed no one, never raped or pillaged any witnesses.

  i do not tolerate small-minded witnesses who called me 'brother' for most of 40 years, now acting as if i am no better than sh*t on the bottom of their shoes.

  i wonder if jw's know that society at large finds it disgusting that they prey upon the most vulnerable?

  (this is actually a rant i can't elaborate on, but i'm pissed off about it)

  guaranteed those who write the books the way they do in the quantities that they do, for the purpose of what they are used for.... guaranteed they know exactly what they are doing.
  When they misquote someone on important issues, when they lie by ommission again and again, when they change their own history, when they substitue GOD/WT/ORG/ELDERS/JESUS/ANNOINTED any time they want so that they all end up being the same entity.... guaranteed they know.
  When they set out rules that follow the 10 check points of a cult - its not by accident - you need these characteristics to control people.....

  because i am not going out in service and miss many meetings, and because they were.

  I am not a jw, but was told by an elder "Loyalty to the organization is more important than the truth"
  
  Now I don't know whether he meant truth or Truth™
  
  also with the WT organization being defined as the legal representative of jws, which is also how they describe the position of a "mediator" - a legal representative.
  
  but then you have that pesky bible that says Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the.....as well as the Mediator.
  
  The "org" has clearly set themselves up in the place of Christ (acting like annointed ones = messiahs) or, the disgusting thing in the holy place.
  
  They expect YOUR loyalty to enforce this on your brothers. They use dishonesty, change their past, misquote, and so much more to get what they want. POWER It cannot exist without compliance.
  
  Whether you are a christian or not, believe in the bible or not - what IT is doing, and expect others to do, is wrong.
  
  It is that simple!

  in reading over drew sagan's post this am, we were discussing how often the wt says soon.

  it is really brought to the fore when you read his post.

  it's now been over 92 years since their 1914 date.

  That is going to be my new years resolution...... whenever I'm in the same room with a JW and the issue of time comes up - what time do we have to be there? how long before dinner? when is this bill due? when are the kids going to be home? SOON!
